One woman, two elements

Géraldine Fasnacht is a freeride snowboarder, basejumper, wingsuit, microlight and glacier-plane pilot.

Géraldine Fasnacht worked for the famous airline Swissair until 2001. After obtaining a CFC in commerce and a load-controller diploma, she left everything when she was selected for the most extreme competition in the world — the Verbier X-treme — which she won on her first participation.

She became a world-renowned freeride snowboarder, winning 11 international titles on the Freeride World Tour, the Verbier X-treme grand final three times, and scoring 23 podiums around the world. She started skydiving in 1998, and base jumping and wingsuit flying in 2001.

The bird woman is inspired by the mountains and explores new lines in the most remote places on the planet. She climbs iconic summits and opens major exit points in Antarctica, Baffin Island, Iran and across the Alps — from the Matterhorn and the Drus to Monte Rosa.

A pioneer in these high-flying disciplines, Géraldine never stops pushing the limits: tracing lines through the air in a wingsuit and down the steepest slopes on her snowboard.

Passionate about the mountains, Géraldine feels free there — connected to the elements. For her, flying is not a reckless adventure but a waking dream, realised only after meticulous planning. Through methodical preparation and experience she has built a deep knowledge of the mountains and their stakes. She does not deny the danger; she assesses risk carefully and knows when to step back, so she can live her passion without going beyond her limits.

Géraldine believes you cannot fully live an adventure without the desire and courage to share it. Through her conferences she explores risk management, surpassing oneself and making dreams come true.

Named “Adventurer of the Year 2021” by the prestigious Paris Match magazine.

One woman, twelve achievements

My achievements

Snow is where it all began: three Verbier Xtreme wins, eight seasons on the Freeride World Tour. Since 2001 the air has been my summer playground: I open summits in a wingsuit — I climb them on foot, check every metre, and only jump on the day I am ready.

13 June 2024 · ultralight landed at 4,200 m · NW face at 50°

One adventure is both at once. On 13 June 2024 I landed my ultralight on the highest glacier in Switzerland, climbed the Nordend, and rode the north-west face down on my snowboard.

Three years of observation for one day of weather window. It is the most complicated adventure of my life.
